Gulls
Herring gulls are large, noisy gulls found throughout the year around our coasts and inland around rubbish tips, fields, large reservoirs and lakes, especially during winter. Adults have light grey backs, white under parts, and black wing tips with white ‘mirrors’. Their legs are pink, with webbed feet and they have heavy, slightly hooked bills marked with a red spot. Young birds are mottled brown.
The Problem
Causing problems for homes and businesses across the UK and along coastlines, seagulls often try to stay above ground level for their own safety and so they can see any possible danger. They will often choose to nest on flat roofs and in hard to reach places so they are not disturbed. They are known to be aggressive if approached, using a ‘dive bomb’ technique to attack.
The Solution
It’s important to act at the right time to control seagulls, because it’s illegal to remove or disturb them if they are nesting. LBS have the relevant licences and permissions to deal with nesting seagulls, as well as being equipped with the right machinery to get to hard to reach nests. So if your bird problem is more than you can handle, call us as we’ve developed safe, cost-effective and eco-friendly solutions that deter nuisance birds without harming them.
